671 million spent for nothing.

This is severe mismanagement of a critical infrastructure project and a waste of public money.

This is unforgiveable incompetence: NZ has spent $671m to get no ferries, rather than $551m to get new ferries that would be arriving within months to replace clapped-out ferries. This sort of mismanagement should bring down a government; amazingly, it's not even the worst example of their failings

Truly the best way to travel! Amazing service on the train, economical, and there are tables to work on so it’s also productive. 🤩
Best part is the wonderful friends waiting for me at each end. ❤️
Two thumbs up and a massive thank you for the Sunday TeHuia service - we had our first weekend guest to stay who could travel to us from Auckland to Kirikiriroa by train AND GET HOME AGAIN! Such a pleasure @rochellei.bsky.social

I’ve been watching fog creep in across the city from the west. A great wave pausing to crest the hills before rolling down to the water. It erases buildings from the bottom up. No longer earthbound the tallest towers form a floating cloud city.

You know what would FUCK the govt. If every swoman in public service quit.
All that annual leave owed to be paid out.
The entire country would grind to a fucking halt and we would empty the coffers.
The problem is we can’t and won’t because we need out jobs. But just imagine.. wow.

Ever wondered why walking around museums is weirdly tiring? At normal speed our legs act like pendulums, swinging forward from the hip & saving us a huge amount of energy. In "museum shuffle" our muscles must do ALL the work of constant readjustment. So cake in the cafe is scientifically justified 🥳

Still warm from the press, these little pancake style-shapes filled with red bean paste were lightly sweet pillows of deliciousness. According to the store owner they are three shapes associated with Sensō-ji in Tokyo: lantern, pigeon, and pagoda.
