Teaching our #TUGraz master students about #Passivhaus #Klimaaktiv and heat recovery #ventilation systems today, at my favourite school #VSMariagrün in Graz 🇦🇹. Paradoxically, building services rooms are (for good reason) typically confined unventilated spaces, hence why I'm #SaltingTheVibes ...

The public read claims like, "As energy savings equals emissions reductions, the PH is a sustainable alternative to conventional construction." Leading them to believe their detached concrete, steel & foam PH in the countryside is somehow sustainable. We can and should do better than this.

Given the increasing transparency of LCA reporting and also the interoperability between LCA, BIM and energy simulation tools, it would be fairly straightforward to incorporate per building and per occupant upfront and C2C emission benchmarks in existing performance standards and regulations.
