there could literally not be a better time in history for us on the left to reach out to progressive liberals and show them that there is an alternative—that the democratic party is their enemy and is just as subservient to capital as republicans are

right on the heels of overwhelming victories giving them a clear mandate to continue fighting, party leadership caves asking eight members who are not up for reelection this cycle to take the fall and vote yes. it's not just that the democratic party isn't our "friend" — it's much worse than that

and not a single one of those voting yes are up for reelection this cycle

that's where the affordable rent part comes in
