Brassica Automaton. If I'm following you, it's probably because I know you from somewhere. [E], Thorns, Timbers, general nerdery and other stuff.
"This tastes like sadness."
"I was going to say that it reminds me of my childhood."
"... Well, yeah."

Woke up feeling a bit crap because I went to bed much later than usual, even for a Friday...

...my Friday night festivities? Made boeuf bourguignon, underestimated how long it would take. 🤘

As I sweated on the turf in the November heat(?!) earlier today, after putting away a huge, incredible Goonies-theme tifo, Castellanos scored a screamer of a goal. The Thorns won and ended the regular season third in the league.

At the start of the year I did not expect any of this, but it's great.

A scary experience to get my heart pumping at the start of the day: Two dogs (pit bulls, I think?) with no sign of an owner ran across the street at me, barking aggressively

DJing at a wedding must be weird... I know they often have to accommodate requests, but hearing Kid Rock and then Chappell Roan in the same set felt odd

"I think that performance was what happens when theatre kids grow up."
"Theatre kids don't grow up, they just get older."
"...Fair."

PAX was fun but it felt like it passed even faster than usual and now it'll be ages until I see people again

Woso everywhere: Missed a Thorns match because I'm in Seattle then walked out of my hotel as the Wave players got off their bus and walked in

My local (US) Costco has started selling Tim Tams... so I now have more of them in my house than at any previous point in my life

Why yes, I *was* grossed out by the dude who walked barefoot into the airplane bathroom.

And yes, when I got home from the airport, I *did* give my cat, fresh from the litterbox, a little forehead kiss.

My shift from "even putting things too close to my eyes is awful" to "screw it, I'll just put these eye drops in while the car is moving" has been surprisingly quick

Our cat's review of the 4th of July in a city where fireworks are supposedly banned:

Loud. Terrifying. Better than riding in a car, but not by much.

I painted some parts of this tifo a few weeks ago, but I was busy for the later sessions. Today I was standing behind it, pulling on one of the ropes. So this is my first time seeing the finished product; It turned out well, I think!

Some series of Taskmaster weren't as enjoyable as others, which is understandable after this long... but so far the 19th series is great. Jason Mantzoukas has been especially good at injecting the level of chaotic energy that the show thrives on.

Holy shit, Thorns. What a great performance tonight.

I only learned about this after I got home from the match.

I fundamentally don't understand why people hate others who are just living their lives. Well done to those who made sure that the person who did it was identified and removed from our section.
We’ve caught bigoted propaganda put on our trans flags and removed it.

Your hate is not welcome here. We will not tolerate any bigotry, anti-trans or otherwise, in our house.

Today we were out snowshoeing on a national forest trail. It was nice to be outside, but hard going. After a few hours, we were pushing through the final uphill slog to get back to the trailhead.

Then some dude passed us wearing Gucci sneakers, watching a TV show on his phone at full volume.

I was walking this morning and heard a meow - not unusual; I often stop to pet neighborhood cats, and the bolder ones call out to me as they run over.

I stopped and looked around for a while, and I was sorely disappointed when I realized that sound had actually come from a human baby.

I'm always disappointed by how many people seem to think everything in life has to be a zero-sum game. Sometimes it's unavoidable, sure, but constantly trying to win by making sure that someone else loses is the worst.

Walked around in the (rare) snow before work today. Twisted my ankle twice, but it was peaceful in a way that too little of the world is right now.

It's usually pretty cool to see our supporters group's tifos shared by people unconnected to the team or sport. This one also served as a timely reminder that things are not hopeless.
I don't think I need to clarify my stance on the topic but these soccer folks summed it up

At last! Twice in the past week, I've had to move to avoid being hit by a car... while I was using a crosswalk. I am bigger than either driver, but they didn't see me.

Now I just need to work out how to harness this new power of invisibility, and I can start putting the heist crew together.

Commercial air travel may sometimes be stressful and complicated, but it still holds some of the magic for me that it did when I was a kid

Alright, I got this account early enough to be called an "elder" but never posted. Time to fix that.
