superconductors are weird as hell. If we could make them small enough I wonder if we could like trap a bolt of lightning in one and carry it around like a lightning gun. But I think it would generate a huge magnetic field? 🤔

the reason there are private gyms and nobody has to talk about the need for public gyms is that people actually want to go to the gym unlike libraries which nobody wants. it's not even aspirational. it's an aspiration for an aspiration: if I was a different better person I would want that
if we loved public libraries as much as we say we do, they’d be crowded as fuck and we’d hate public libraries

i've been rolling my eyes at the hipness of portland, but rn i'm sitting in a clean, japanese-minimalist coffee shop; right outside the floor to ceiling windows, the cherry blossoms are blooming, painting the wind. and gosh darn, it's beautiful.

i feel like walking meditation (kinhin) does get enough credit, really into it lately. So good to learn to maintain that zazen composure while moving around in the world
