Our brains love the colour gradation in rainbows, maybe due to our ancestors searching for sources of water. Looking at plants helps us recover from stress & looking at something we think is beautiful causes dopamine release.
I've posted this photo to alter your brain biochemistry for the better 🌿

Heartbroken to learn about Pableaux Johnson’s death today. He was one of a kind, and he touched so many lives with his wonderful photography and humble offering of Red Beans and Rice. My sincere condolences to his community in New Orleans and beyond.

Everyone knows the Washingon Post is in turmoil, bleeding subscribers, journalists, reader respect. But if the boss is asking how to attract Trump supporters that means self-respect is eroding too. For me, at least, that's a step further than I thought we were at. www.semafor.com/newsletter/0...

This is going to be a good follow. Besides all the great work he did in restaurants, with Edna, Lewis, with books, and more, he is the undisputed king of biscuits as far as I'm concerned. Plus cornbread plus chicken + dumplings plus any aspect of Southern cooking.

Was offered the opportunity to meet the inimitable Toni Tipton-Martin in Boston last night, along with Morgan Bolling. I left the event with two additional copies for gifts.
Firmly believe that people from all walks and experience levels will find this book inspiring.
Another November release steered into being by Toni Tipton- Martin which makes it essential IMO. She is just brilliant.

Back before the sourdough blob took over my life entirely, I also fancied myself a portrait photographer, and even found time to combine my two loves. This image of my friend Kerry Hanney (of Portland's Night Moves Bakery) was shot on 4x5 film, on a SpeedGraphic camera.

Bsky still feels sort of like a private room so here’s a sincere and personal ask: In the last few weeks I’ve spoken to a few other parents of Jewish-Palestinian children and it’s been moving and meaningful for me. If you know any other families like mine, I’d love to know them too.
