i definitely am overdue for a replay of the ps2 titles in the series - its wild seeing the graphics and realizing that my brain encoded them at the time as unflinchingly realistic and gorgeous, and now they look very, not bad, per se, but ps2 (not that that’s really the reason i’d replay them now!)

if i had to name why, though, it’s “solo wing pixy”, the char who is your foil after being your friend in the early game, who starts a Posadist organization (for very understandable reasons) and then kicks off a standoff over ICBMs and whether you can “accelerate” the world towards peace with them

ace combat zero was it for me. no surprise that i liked it, it really was the total package - quasi-realistic plane combat, a voice acted story that felt almost like a drama cd, and a bonkers plot just carried it completely for me! but its strange that i remember it much more fondly than 04, 5 or 6

i remember one release they did of Elvis remasters that had a disc in the shape of Elvis; it probably only had three tracks on it but i remember seeing it in stores. looking it up, there were multiple done this way, but i don’t think any of them had data on track 1
