A very happy “Hong Kong is Within the Humidity Band That Spray Primers are Made For” Week to all who celebrate.

Camping out in the wilds of Hong Kong, on a beach best accessed by speedboat.

Not sure about this new manicurist.

She kept calling it a “Nailmacure” and claimed she invented it, then talked about Twilight Sparkle for like 20 minutes.

I would like to point out that Max Muncy and I have never been photographed in the same place.

Wait did baseball change its rules when I wasn’t paying attention or…?

Everyone has that Holy Grail model, the one that was crazy rare or unattainable in their country or for some reason they just couldn’t put their hands on.

…but somehow I just got mine?! I genuinely never even considered it a possibility.

Funky bars are something Taipei has in spades, but among them Vinyl Decision stands out.

A part of the Huashan 1914 Creative Park—housed in a former winery and sake distillery—the host spins records by request between live music sets.

Who doesn’t love sake alongside live Brazilian Bossa Nova?

The publication of THE INFINITE AND THE DIVINE five years ago marked a change in my life in a way that would be trite if you wrote it in fiction.

I took the book home, let my daughter play with it, then went to dinner to celebrate and was told we were going to have another kid.

This was my face.

Happy book birthday to THE INFINITE AND THE DIVINE, which released in hardback five years ago today!

Thanks so much to everyone who’s taken the ride with these two on their ten-millennia tropical vacation disaster.

Had no idea the Taipei Zoo was considered the best in Asia—and for good reason!

Mass Damper or “Gravity Ball” to reduce swaying due to wind. It’s 66 metric tons and on the 88-89th floors, and is the only one in the world open to the public.

I actually saw the National Guard in DC late at night a couple weeks back.

Blocks of no soldiers, then eight standing around Farragut West station in teams of two, doing nothing and looking bored.

This year Ocean Park Hong Kong jumped on the Labubu craze and made blind-boxes its theme for the 2025 Halloween season, with each of its six haunted houses matching to a blind box figure (which yes, you can buy).

One haunted attraction, The Hatred Box, is explicitly about a possessed Labubu store.

The most beautiful sight in all of air travel.

Y’all it’s hard to even describe how big Super Typhoon Ragasa is, but I just want to point out that it is comfortably covering the whole of the eastern South China Sea while simultaneously impacting geography as far apart as Southern China, Taiwan island, and the northern Philippine islands.

Hoooo boy the typhoon about to hit Hong Kong is a biggie.

Looks a lot like Super Typhoon Mangkhut in 2018, which downed 10,000 trees and provided some of the most dramatic HK typhoon footage of the past few years.

This is what it looks like internally. The notebooks are all held in by elastic bands so you can swap them whenever you want.

I actually make them myself now, though this is one I bought.

Finally delivered a huge thing I’ve been working on for awhile.

Really excited to dive into something new!

I have ritually removed the project’s battle-worn passport-size notebook insert from my pocket journal and replaced it with a fresh one.

In troubled times simple pleasures are really important, and one of those simple pleasures is getting a new watch band.

Reposting a meme someone else made about a movie he doesn’t understand is the closest Trump got to Vietnam.

Amongst the amazing offerings on Warhammer+ this week is the Black Library Book Club discussing The Fall of Cadia!

Check it out!

Why is the bean’s office not covered in Warhammer miniatures, six open notebooks, and a stack of online order returns he’s supposed to complete for his wife?

My bean has more classy decor than me and I don’t like it.
