Liberal Democrat councillor for Weston-super-Mare Central. My own news and views on Weston, and sometimes on other less interesting parts of the universe.
I just attended the inaugural weekly market on the Italian Gardens, now on every Wednesday. It seemed to be pretty well attended with a good mix of stalls. Definitely worth a visit.

It's shocking to witness such bullying today. America is becoming an embarrassment. But they aren't just cutting themselves off from the rest of the world - what they are doing is seriously dangerous for everyone.

Changes to the recycling and waste collection over the Christmas period. For those whose bin day is Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, it'll be two days later next week and one day later the week after.

Do you need to get to Worle this week? Why not get the bus there for free? Until 7th December, Weston's number 6 bus service is offering free journeys between Weston Interchange and Worle High Street and Worle Interchange with no tickets required. Hop on and off as much as you like.

On white ribbon day today, I'm wearing the white ribbon, because I support White Ribbon UK and I stand against violence to women and girls.

We are not a free society, if half of us do not feel safe to live their lives without fear of violence.

Due to expected bad weather, there's a change to the town's Christmas lights switch-on tomorrow. The ceremony and celebration will now be inside the Winter Gardens from 4.45pm with a live stream of the tree and lights in the Italian Gardens. Don't forget that the town bus services are free all day.

Most people will not notice the 'safety improvements' to the roundabout by Tesco, although the government spent around £22,000 on lines and signs. It would have been more useful to install a proper pedestrian crossing across the main road to help some pedestrians access the railway station.
