But yes I agree the $$$ they spent obviously helped out Coinbase here. While corporations buying politicians is hardly anything new, Trump is of course taking it to a near criminal level.

Coinbase collects the fees for $TRUMP sold on its platform, not Trump. Trump would only collect fees for tokens bought/sold on decentralized exchanges where they provide the liquidity. I'd also argue that the SEC's case was largely meritless, but that might get me cancelled here.
