Zohran Mandami did a bit of trolling of Andrew Cuomo, and who can blame him. Cuomo scrambled to reject Trump's back-handed endorsement, but I have a feeling it will stick anyway.

One of the things to remember is that the current occupant of the White House almost always does things to draw attention or deflect attention. The best thing we can do is to stay grounded, stay centered. Our path forward remains the same.

If at all possible, please don't support the big box stores, not just on Black Friday weekend, but for the Christmas season. Spend wisely, frugally and intentionally. Buy local whenever possible. Small businesses rock.

Tomorrow, September 16, is the first day of #blackoutthesystem This runs from September 16 to September 20. If you have any last minute shopping, please make your purchases today. Please do as much as you can. Not everyone can take a sick day or five. Whatever you can do is appreciated.

There's a quick way to fix your TikTok videos so they'll play in a browser. When you copy a link to a video in the TikTok app, the site adds additional information that isn't really needed for a browser to find it. You can edit out that information.

#BlackoutTheSystem is from Tuesday, September 16 through Saturday, September 20. Constitution Day is September 17.

Turns out that I didn't miss anything by skipping the "important" press conference. @pinkberryga.bsky.social posted something on TikTok about it and I took a screenshot. Thankfully there were other folks watching His Orangeness so I wouldn't have to.

I love shopping at Aldi because they don't contribute much to political campaigns. I will definitely continue to shop there instead of Walmart. I did notice that the Texas Aldi where I was today had a lot of Texas beef. Most big Texas grocers will. I still love shopping at Aldi. Just not for beef.

All human beings should be treated as one of the least of our brethren. Due process is a right of anyone on US soil.

You want to mash the TikTok link in the address bar and hit the edit button. (Or click if you're on a computer.) Erase everything after the question mark. (1st photo) Your result (2nd photo) is ready to copy and post, without the baggage. Just be sure and test it in your browser, and after posting.

(Important note: I text the TikTok link I wish to post to another phone that doesn't have the TikTok app. Or transfer it to a PC. ) First, when you copy a link from the TikTok app, it's truncated, a mixture of letters and numbers. I (1st photo) When you open it in a browser it expands. (2nd photo)

This 1918 quote by Theodore Roosevelt was almost prescient.

Couldn't find a political affiliation with a Google search. Here's what I did find. Doesn't really come across as MAGA.

It appears this story was from March 2, before things were as bad as they are now. Here's a couple of screenshots.

Maybe there were other times in American history when corporate interests were poised to take over government as they currently are. Perhaps it has been this bad before. I personally feel that this time is worse. It could be that is only because I wasn't there to experience prior instances.

Hidden in the "Big Beautiful Bill" is a paragraph designed to allow the Trump administration to do whatever they want, free of any concerns about contempt of court charges. Here's Section 70302, H.R.1 of the 119th Congress.
