Canada has a stake calling out Pete Hegseth's murder on the seas.
In June 1918 the hospital ship Llandovery Castle was sunk. The U boat murdered survivors in the water including 14 Canadian nurses.
Canada never forgot or forgave.
We have prosecuted war crimes ever since. Sucks to be you Pete.

start doing something about this and crime/homelessness will drop. I don't have children and I struggle to feed myself.
Manitoba families are increasingly struggling to feed their children as they contend with high rent, inflation and insufficient government support, the province’s largest food bank warned.

the Granite has ongoing problems with river bank erosion and nearly no parking. city council wants to reduce the parking and put a large not-actually-affordable block of apartments on the same river bank. why not appropriate GWL parking and put the block across the road?

Pete Hegseth has implicated the entire US chain of command in murder.
He used a child's cartoon to brag about this.
It is depraved.

Forest defenders vow to fight on after RCMP raid dismantles Vancouver Island protest camp

it doesn't matter, the pilots are culpable for what happened. orders from anyone mean more people are, but the pilots are still responsible.
My money is on the military in this shoot out.
Breaking news: Government officials said they are increasingly concerned that the Trump administration intends to scapegoat the military officer who directed U.S. forces to kill survivors of a targeted strike on suspected drug smugglers in Latin America.

The Poilievre Conservatives are attacking Canada's longstanding tradition of multilateralism and global engagement.
They claim its Liberal "racism."
They would leave Canada weak and alone in the face of trump and putin.

follows the path of the UK, rightwing becomes so looney the 'moderate' CONS move over to a 'centrist' party (Labour in the UK, Libs in Canada) and then the party goes right, abandoning everything just for the money.
Genuinely feels like there's been a coup within the Liberal party thanks to Carney and his bros.

Not to say Trudeau's Liberals were much better (they bought a pipeline!) but Carney is a full-blown red tory and I'm shocked more Liberals aren't outraged their party has been usurped like this.
Super cool that we've got a deal for a path towards a pipeline that's tied to a carbon capture project, as if that makes it okay

when carbon capture one of the most expensive and least effective options for addressing climate change, and oil companies often use it to EXTRACT MORE OIL!!!!

The thing is we've known that housing the homeless is cheaper than neglect, we've known that Ubi is effective at eliminating poverty, we've known that heavily subsidized housing and education leads people into the middle class, we've known all of these things in some cases for 70 years.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.
