Last year, while still at the Uni of Bamberg, I recorded a YouTube mini-lecture and wrote a guide for teaching critical race theory & intersectionality through the medium of modern & contemporary literature -- with a specific focus on Toni Morrison. Here it is!

When people say 'politics is too divisive now,' what they really mean is 'I was more comfortable when certain groups suffered quietly.'

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

A huge error in political judgement from Starmer. We should also reflect on the Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper. She has been working on refugee/migrants as the Home Affairs Select Committee Chair for years. So is this a judgement error, or something that she really believes? It's not clear to me.
Writing this with a heavy heart: the refugee citizenship ban is the single most unconscionable policy Labour has proposed since it entered power. It’s the moment that I felt my support for this administration begin to crumble inews.co.uk/opinion/colu...
The precise moment my support for Keir Starmer began to crumble
Labour is going to prevent refugees from ever becoming citizens of Britain

I was invited to speak about the upcoming Trump era and share some lessons and optimism. I declined politely. After more than 25 years of researching the far right, I have no more (new) lessons and optimism to share.

I've always found talk of Trump's pol "genius" weird. It ignores how much easier it is for his GOP to appeal to voters' worst instincts than it is for Dems to try to convince a winning majority of liberal (in the US sense) politics & economics. Trump just knows how to throw stuff at a sticky wall.
