I work in comics!
Mostly as a colorist, but also as writer, editor, and everything else.
I've been a pro in the industry since 1999, and worked everywhere. Marvel, DC, Antarctic Press, Zenescope and too many more to list! Over 18,000 pages and 900 books!

Instead of saying "this was good strategy", maybe Dems should instead say "The republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."
They could at least get the messaging right.

Breaking the tv specials into sets certainly makes sense, especially given how many are lackluster and won't sell on their own beyond completionists.
Maybe 4 sets of 6/7, or 5 sets of 5/6? That's about as much playtime as a season set. 3 sets of 9 would be amazing but bad for future-proofing.

Possibly could do the TV movies in multiple sets? But the theatrical films (in particular Cagliostro) sell on their own.
Maybe the crossover movies with Conan and Cat's Eye... maybe the Takeshi Koike quartet... there's potential sets but nothing large scale or comprehensive that would make sense.

UY may be possible given its only six films, and 10 OVAs, but there's too many Lupin films from too many eras to do any sort of comprehensive multi-pack.
12 Theatrical films, 3 live action, CGI film, 3 OVAs, 27! TV specials... there's sets that could be made but nothing comprehensive.

So now the messaging needs to switch to exactly that.

Thank you for that insightful analysis and response, character from 1992's hit film Wayne's World.

Who the hell brought up the Jew angle?
You're adding all sorts of layers that no one else even mentioned.
Party leader wants a result, picks his least vulnerable members to take the hit. That's what party leaders do.
Nothing about being Jewish?

If it was only senators speaking their conscience, and 1/5 of them defect, statistically more than one of them should be up within the next two elections.
But somehow only the ones retiring or running in 2030, the furthest possible election, voted.
That's coordinated by *someone*.

They didn't expect the president to actively and intentionally go out of his way to make children starve.

Because they chose that one thing to fight for, campaigned on it, and then caved a day after elections while simultaneously getting nothing for it.

Two of them are retiring. The others aren't up for re-election for years.
That's why they're the ones that were bought.

The problem is... that's the message. Right there.
That should be EASY to make noise about. It's one sentence. And it's horrific. And true!
And they aren't even doing that.
They can do the right thing and ALSO say "We didn't count on the president deliberately starving children."

Two of the senators are retiring and the rest aren't up for re-election any time soon. They were all safe to be bought out, so it probably didn't take all that much.

I always thought Lupin 77 was impossible given just how *much* of it there was still undubbed. Like half.
But they did all of green jacket randomly and clearly have that crew on speed dial.
I assume if they ever DO manage it, it'll have to be multiple releases to justify the cost.

I remember when AOC first got the job they criticized her for having *nail polish*.
They don't want new blood, they don't want to fight for anything, they just want their comfy job where they do nothing but make money for sitting around and taking bribes.

But you see, they weren't TOLD that it contained the nebulous impossible to define "woke" at the time, so they assumed it had none.

Oh sure, he can't win re-election, but he's the defacto next in line so they'll want as much mileage as they can *theoretically* get.

If he makes it the next three months it's only because the best doctors in the world are making it happen.
What they want is for him to make it through midterms and a day, so Vance can theoretically get 10 years instead of 6.
As long as he's not *dead*, they're not doing anything until then.

"why either of the two major parties has to be conservative."
Because a huge chunk of the nation is conservative and religious.
If one party isn't actively filling that role, then both parties will shape the agenda around them to get those votes, instead of at least one being progressive.

I kind of forget about that election cycle because it was taken for granted Obama was winning, no one paid much attention at the time and he was just random republican filling the ballot.
Guy did actually have principles though. He actually voted to convict Trump, so that's something.

Or.... they are legit just voting on the economy and what affects their personal day to day.
There were people on election day that hadn't known Biden dropped out.
Lot of folks don't pay attention to the news, or filter it out as exaggerations, and just have no idea how extreme and bad it is.

McCain/Obama was the last time that happened.
Had he not been following up the Bush years he would have seemed like an actual decent choice.

Most voters aren't actually voting for the hate, they are legit just voting on the economy and ignoring, oblivious, or lied to about all the other stuff.
Yeah, some extreme racists/sexists in it for the bigotry, but not all 77 million voters and 90 million non-voters.

Trump got credit for Obama's economy, and when his policies started to crash, the pandemic hit and took all the blame he should have gotten then.
Meanwhile, Biden got blamed for Trump's economy and pandemic fallout.
