I used to be a video game developer. I don't think ai will replace great developers in a meaningful way but we will see so much slop as they try

I am honestly concerned about ai videos going forward. Already seeing them get popular on YouTube shorts without people knowing they aren't real.

getting someone new setup in cooked's dev environment is way harder than I had realized. this thing is huge now

I see reports from companies saying AI is actually slowing down their programming and making it worse. I get something like a 2-10x from it, but I run myself ragged mentally applying structure and architecture to the prompts. I think this is some kind of indicator

real multitasking is more exhausting than most things. I used to be able to just focus on my one task I was on but now with ai agents doing most of the work, I'm more like a manager running 2-3 teams. it's wild how much i'm creating though.

one thing i'm finding very challenging about designing and developing a big platform is that even with a truly amazing product person and ui/ux expert, we struggle to bring forward the actual depth of functionality we've created to the user. it's so hard to do well.
