Seahawks getting it done in a different way, but that was almost as dominant of a first half as the week 13 road beatdown of the Eagles in the snow on Monday Night Football in 2005. That was a fun game to be at.

Mariners on to the ALCS... Kraken beat VGK with 4 seconds left in OT for back to back wins to start the season... Great way to end a tough week.

My roommate and I listened to Game 4 of the 2001 ALDS on the radio while standing in line at a physical Ticketmaster location so we could score tickets for Game 5 when the Mariners won. Never thought we'd wait this long to celebrate another home playoff win. Savor the moment.
For perspective, the Kingdome was only open for 24 years, and shut down a little bit more than 2 months before the implosion.

M’s last home playoff win October 15th, 2001.
That’s the first home playoff win for the @Mariners in 24 YEARS.

Dan Wilson played for the Mariners when they last won the AL West in 2001. Now he manages them

He’s the 3rd individual to play for & then manage sequential division titles for a team, joining:

Craig Counsell MIL (2011 plyr, ‘18 mgr)
Bruce Bochy SD (1984, ‘96)

h/t @EliasSports
The Mariners can clinch the AL West today with a win or an Astros’ loss

Here are the starting lineups from September 19, 2001 — the last time they clinched the division ⬇️
