It looks very much like the National Press Club statement lied about their cancellation of Chris Hedges. His appearance WAS confirmed, and even listed on the website, according to this.
(Hedges believes his talk on Gaza was cancelled following pressure from the pro-Israel lobby):

As someone still debilitated by Long Covid two years after contracting my only case of it, I wish people would understand the "ongoing impact" of the disease.

A couple of points I should add:
-Segal has no experience or expertise in reducing hate speech
-She proposes that her judgements override laws, offices & experts that already exist (and work) to limit hate speech.
-If I was Islamophobia envoy I'd be v concerned about her family's support for Advance
If Anthony Albanese was indeed genuinely seeking to restore “social cohesion” by appointing a special envoy to combat antisemitism, he couldn’t have made a poorer choice than Jillian Segal.

Jillian Segal’s position as antisemitism spokesperson is untenable

As chair of LR-GAS (Linda Reynolds Grievance Appreciation Society) I regret to inform you all that our dear Linda's latest grievance - Grievance No 4,352 - has been dismissed by the NACC

Linda alleged the payment was corrupt or summat, and also she was never asked her opinion . . . I kid you not

BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.”

They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

Other countries tax their oil and gas industries. Australia subsidies ours.

Our research found while gas prices boomed in 2022, LNG companies made windfall gains of up to $40 billion. PRRT take increased by less than $1 billion.

It's time to fix the tax loopholes that Big Gas exploits. #auspol

What a pig of a man.

David Littleproud got in a car and drove to Albury where Sussan Ley was attending to her dying mother?

He did this so he could harass Ley - while👏🏽her👏🏽mother👏🏽was👏🏽dying - purely and solely about the National's business?

I can't believe I know this. How vile.

Hey Dutton, we haven’t forgotten your attacks on Welcome to Country ceremonies. Don’t treat Australians like fools. You walked out on the apology, and destroyed a generation worth of reconciliation with your No campaign based on cruel lies. This is your legacy. You can’t undo it now.

Before Israel’s genocide, Gaza was the world’s largest open-air prison.
Now it’s turned into the world’s largest concentration camp.

Every day: a new massacre. A new bombing. A new slaughter.

Two million people are being starved to death.

No mention of this on his 'voice of reason' appearances on the ABC.
For the record, Joe Hockey is a defence lobbyist who stands to make millions from defence contracts with the US and other allies. To just describe him in interviews as a former US ambassador and not his CURRENT vested interest role is not just irresponsible, it's lying.
