"please contribute your income-generating ideas". Because reading other research, research, papers, grants, teaching, supervision, marking, knowledge exchange, admin, external activities (reviewing paper, grants, examing) are not enough to fill an academics time. #academiclife

Todays pondering: how many hours does the average acadaemic waste on formating manuscripts for journals (by waste, I mean fixing stuff that is not mentioned in the author instructions/reformatting for a new journal after a rejection)?

I started working with genetics during my undergrad in 2000. None of my training (including self-directed learning in data sciecne) has equipped me for installing software on our computer cluster. No bioinformatics support available. Very frustrated and very much stuck!
