You can count Emmitt Smith among those who believes that Darren Woodson (and other notable Dallas Cowboys players) deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Emmitt Smith believes Brian Schottenheimer has to look hard at the Dallas Cowboys defensive situation.

Here is the uniform matchup for Monday night's game between the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders.

A lot of people have thoughts on how they would go about fixing the Dallas Cowboys.

I was curious what Emmitt Smith's were.

Caught up with Emmitt Smith this week and talked a variety of things:
- His work with NARCAN
- DWTS, his thoughts on the season
- How he would fix the Cowboys
- Only Gators get out alive

The Dallas Cowboys are going to need at least 9 wins (maybe 10) if they want to be a playoff team in 2025.

Given that they are 3-5-1… that means they have to win at least 6 of their final 8 games.

Even being incredibly optimistic that is a tough sell. Obvs anything can happen.
November 12, 2025 at 3:41 AM
The 2025 Dallas Cowboys are trying to become the first team to have 3 wins through the first 9 games of their season and still go on to make the playoffs since...

The 2023 Green Bay Packers that completely broke the Cowboys franchise in a way they are still recovering from.
November 11, 2025 at 8:44 PM
There are definitely historical examples to support the Cowboys (3-5-1) scratching and clawing their way to a playoff berth.

It goes without saying it is a pretty big longshot, though.
November 11, 2025 at 2:31 PM
History suggests the Cowboys would need at least 9 wins for a chance (talking about chances and just spitballing here) at the playoffs.

That means they would have to win 6 of their remaining 8 games.

The Cowboys improved their football team when they traded for Quinnen Williams.

While you can find a Cowboys fan who holds any opinion because the fanbase is so large... the overwhelming majority imo feels this trade is more promising because of the future.

Not the present.
November 10, 2025 at 2:18 AM
It is still wild that the Cowboys traded for Quinnen Williams this past week.
November 9, 2025 at 4:49 PM
The Cowboys roster has a lot of issues (many self-induced) but they took a serious step towards fixing it with their trades this past week.

They deserve criticism for digging the hole they are in. We all agree.

At some point they have to climb out. It seems they are trying.
November 9, 2025 at 2:06 AM
The Dallas Cowboys made a very serious commitment this week to being competitive in 2026 and 2027.

It is officially their window, as annoying as that term is.
November 6, 2025 at 3:50 AM
It is very possible (and even likely) that the Cowboys made their trades on Tuesday in the name of attention and staying relevant.

This can be true at the same time that it is true that they both really help the team and specifically help 2026 and 2027.
November 5, 2025 at 7:45 PM
Since the NFL expanded to a 17-game regular season there have been 43 teams to have 3 or fewer wins through the first 9 games of a season (prior to 2025).

Only 4 of them went on to make the playoffs.

The Dallas Cowboys are currently 3-5-1.

It goes without saying every Cowboys fan hopes the team rallies in 2025 after the team's two trades. But I think most realize that is unlikely given 3-5-1, etc.

The future is what matters. And the team has made a commitment to that.

Now the front office has to keep working.
November 5, 2025 at 2:05 PM
The Dallas Cowboys became a better football team on Tuesday.

It is probably not enough to salvage 2025, but it goes a long way towards helping 2026 and 2027.
November 5, 2025 at 6:02 AM
The Dallas Cowboys are a team generally void of logic and reason so considering the totality of what has happened to them since trading away Micah Parsons is a fruitless exercise on some level.

That doesn't mean that it hasn't been a wild ride.
November 5, 2025 at 1:30 AM
Dallas Cowboys leadership has shown embarrassing levels of indifference with regards to building and fostering their team and the proverbial ship has simply taken on too much water.

This organization is a mess. They have ruined another whole season and will likely learn nothing.
November 4, 2025 at 5:04 PM
I do not believe that the Cowboys should trade George Pickens.

I do believe that the Cowboys should have a serious long-term plan in place for Pickens and that if they do not and plan on playing their usual stupid games then trading him carries merit.
November 4, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Jerry Jones' quote about his oil business ventures and the Dallas Cowboys defense were ones that are impossible to defend.

An actual apology for them would have been nice.

But, I mean, lol.
November 2, 2025 at 9:21 PM
Jerry Jones had a really tone deaf quote this past week.

It is normal which makes it feel like not a big deal.

Ultimately the situation just stinks for Cowboys fans.
November 2, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Hopefully the Dallas Cowboys do not do something silly in terms of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline.
November 1, 2025 at 2:43 PM
The Dallas Cowboys could learn a lot from the Detroit Lions.

They could learn a lot from a lot of people and things to be clear, but the Lions are the most recent example.
