The second says increased bombing will stop the infiltration. The third said increase bombing will break Hanoi’s morale the last one says just one more step up in the bombing.

Even some of the less overtly insane things are things no one has ever said done or thought - “being absolutely devoed that the pub’s run out of scotch eggs”. Everything is wrong with it: the sentiment/observation itself, the type of joke it’s trying to be, unhinged use of ‘devoed’.
