The odds of being approved for adoption are *lower* if you’re diagnosed with autism. That’s one of the biggest reasons I’ll never explore beyond “self diagnosis”
I’ve been telling people for years DO NOT GET AN AUTISM DIAGNOSIS unless you absolutely need it for accommodations. It exists as a black mark on your record, a black mark that is increasingly resembling a target. The government can’t be trusted with information like that.
