The resumption of Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, with the full backing of the US government, is an outrage. Israel’s ongoing assault will only deepen the devastation and suffering already inflicted on Gazans.

It’s almost as if this govt is trying to bury the news that it’s abandoned its own citizen to the US military. Merry Xmas Dan.

When you hold so few sitting days, it's not a shock that we end up with this idiocy of trying to rush through bills on the last day.
A lot happening in Aus parliament today, including Chris Bowen's national climate change statement and the release of several reports. Details of what we know so far in 4 posts in the blog (scroll down). Plus everything else that's happening in Canberra today - trademark year-end chaos.

Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young says it's a "disgrace" the social media ban bill has been "railroaded" through the parliament by the two major parties. She says the reason it's being rushed is because Dutton and Albo are worried if people knew the consequence they wouldn't support it.

Another day another incorrect op ed about elections. The Coalition would not have won 2022 under FPP as many Greens voters would have voted strategically for Labor. Even if everyone voted the same they would only have won 73 seats and needed Steggall or Haines to govern.

This week in parliament Labor has:

❌Voted against legalising cannabis
❌Done a deal to pass brutal anti-refugee laws
❌Locked in public school underfunding
❌Voted down an early childhood pay rise
❌Opposed their own policy to wipe 20% of student debt

And it's only Wednesday!

A common Labor trait
The only identifiable belief or ideology that @albomp.bsky.social seems to hold is a passionate hatred of the Greens. I genuinely think he would prefer to see a Dutton government than to give a single concession to them. Madness.
