This is the right idea. Law students everywhere should be doing this.
When will we set a limit on money spent on elections? Why not say there is a set amount that each candidate gets? No more, no less. Make it a fair fight! Maybe the government should have a fund just for that. No outside money.

Mike has been a friend of mine since we were young reporters at the @washingtonpost.com in the 1980s. He brims with talent, integrity and commitment to the truth. This is exactly what I expected and he had hoped he could stave off, which is a trash move by trash people. Throw them out.
