These people have never struck me as the type who think things through or work things out using science, maths or any evidence based rationalisation.

It was always the plan to walk away, sabotage and otherwise dismantle any ceasefire agreement. This is history repeating itself over and over again.

100%. Been saying it for a few years now. US Democrats, UK Labour and Aus Labor all in it to win power, not stand up for their constituents.
They don't care who put them in power. They just want it, and once they get it, they will do anything to keep it.
