Thinking about how yes, there are tons of cuteass wild animals I wish I could pet and befriend & that is part of life's cruel joke, and yet I do live in a world & time where a tiny predator species lives in our homes and DOES in fact want to cuddle and play with us and that feels immeasurably lucky

Shout out to the incredible @chelalyn89.bsky.social - this year has felt beyond bleak but there have been some really good moments. Thankful for the reminder and for the incredible luck I must have to be married to a perfect human.

Sometimes you just can't imagine how your life is going to change. I had no idea when we met how much fun a person could be, how many games two people could play, how many cats is too many. Can't believe we've been married two years, can't believe it's only been two years.

Xanthippe! It took three months for her to let me pet her and now I can pick her up and tell her she's the softest most beautiful model in the house and she only leaves a pound of cat hair in my mouth

Had such a lovely birthday bopping around Madison with @chelalyn89.bsky.social - lots of good food and great drinks, a very cool bookstore, games and wine and breakfast and sun. Our cats had a lot of sharp words for us when we got home.
