I wonder if Trump was actually allowed to choose his own Regent, or if Elon Musk was put into power over everything by someone else, like Thiel maybe? Seems odd to allow the person you're installing a Regent for to choose that Regent.

The main reason Gaetz withdrew is that the Senators he met with explained they'd be required to enter the House Ethics report into the record if he continued. He'd rather that not get released, so he withdrew.
