In truth, if it was possible to hide the commands in the SL right click menu that I don’t use, I would.

No. But too, I’m a lifelong Windows user, so list menus are perma-ingrained. It’s worth mentioning that the # of commands available at right click in SL is greater than the # available when admin-ing a Windows server. And Microsoft still simplified those menus in later versions.

Sounds extremely limiting.

Isn’t that what “there is no spoon” ultimately means?

A republic where officials uphold their oaths of office (& are ruthlessly held to account if they don’t) would be nice. A democracy is too much like 3 wolves voting to eat the 1 dissenting sheep. The sheep should be able to opt out of the results if they’re a threat to their right to life & liberty.

So…a stable community is a stagnant one? I understand having consequences for breaking clear rules, but it sounds like this would also include penalties for saying/doing things that break no rules but that self-styled community Karens decide they don’t like.

Why does that last sentence sound like a threat? Seriously, doesn’t the threat of expulsion also produce a chilling effect on challenging the status quo, socially innovating & evolving the community?

I’d say the same for you, calling Das Kapital a “definitive argument” as if it’s any way a legitimate one.

Maybe to channel Michael Pollan: “Acquire mindfully. Not too much. Mostly experiences.”

Maybe too that should be the title of a Resident’s guide to inventory management. lol

MAGA, for sure, as it’s no less authoritarian than its liberal counterpart. Libertarianism goes off the rails most often when it pretends to be sth it’s not for likes or descends into anarchy. Which is why adhering whole cloth to a single model is cultish behavior. Long live the cherry pickers.

It’s the definitive argument of one who is dangerously ignorant of the universal law of unintended consequences. In essence, the argument of a child who want to impose fairness at gunpoint.
