Graphic Medicine says: "For anyone who has ever felt lost in the world or wrestled with the questions of identity, this book will resonate deeply. Nick Pope is a reminder that while the journey of life is often difficult, our connections that we make and the art we create that help us navigate it."

When we talk about physical media, we are often only taking about personal collections but a big part of shunning the current digital ecosystem is supporting your local library. Not just for print books and periodicals but for movies, games and other medias too. Get. A. Library. Card.

I swear maybe once a decade in public, and this is the moment. This fucking racist and all the gibbering racists nodding along behind him are the ruination of our country. Our fucking job for the next fucking year is to fucking destroy them in the next election. Fuck them.
Trump, continued: "What the Somalian people have done to Minnesota is not even believable. It’s not even believable. And a lot of it starts with the governor. A lot of it starts with Barack HUSSEIN Obama, because that’s when people started coming in... They want to kiss our country good night."

I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

World AIDS Day was cofounded by an American journalist--James Bunn, a San Francisco reporter who was the first person at a local TV station to make the AIDS crisis his beat, in 1983. An administration that did not loathe the press, history, and knowledge itself might have considered honoring that.

Today is the 56th anniversary of the first performance of Mahna Mahna on Sesame Street. You’re familiar with it by now, of course, but... well, it never hurts to be reminded, does it?

And not to get too real on a late night post, but yeah.

I am *so* fucking done with people acting like this is normal. That the president of our country can just flat out lie and it’s not a big deal. That an entire branch of our government has been subverted to the whims of a serial liar.
As someone who has had multiple MRIs, you absolutely know what the techs are imaging before they put you in the machine, because if there is any sort of metal in the target area you *really* need to let them know beforehand since cleaning bloodstains out of the tube is NOT a good time

I'd like to think this will finally be the thing to make his supporters turn on him. But I don't know - who he is has been obvious from the start. Yes - he's a monstrous person, but the problem is everyone who sees that, and says I'm ok with that actually...

I scored a spiffy, modern copy of The Entity a year ago. But it has just sat on my To Read Shelf - because the print's too small for these Grandpa Eyes!
I was stoked to find this trade paperback version - with much larger print! Now I'm ready to dig into it!

It's fascinating that in the wake of two brother filmmaking breakups (the Safdies and the Coens), we're seeing in their subsequent individual films which ones needed the other the most.

Graphic Medicine reviewed my graphic novel Nick Pope - and it was an honor. "Set in a pre-digital era, the book is a tribute to a time when life was simpler in many ways, yet fraught with the universal challenges of youth—identity, belonging, love, and the pursuit of self-worth." #graphicmedicine

My graphic novel Nick Pope covers three months in the diary of a troubled high school sophomore in 1987 who tried to commit suicide in the past.
His family life is chaotic, but his little brother Jamie cares enough to reach out. (Drawn by my departed collaborator Christopher Darling.)
