Hit with a sudden wave of Heats the Point inre: writing. It just feels like wasted time. I'm neither pretty nor rich enough get a following.

No one cares when I post about anything I do; I haven't gotten a Patron, newsletter sign up, or book sale in several months. I hate this.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that Skid Row actually fucking ripped. There's some Pantera influence rubbing off on them on this one, but it's still the classic lineup doing the shit they did best, and Sebastian Bach was never not one of the best voices in metal.

If you don't know about the Mechanical Turk, look it up. I know school made you hate history, but stories like the Mechanical Turk will make you love it again.
I called this whole Optimus robot marketing schtick from Tesla/Musk a replay of of the Mechanical Turk when I wrote about it last year, and nothing seems to have changed:

if I see another academic describe LLMs - a tech owned by a small elite of white billionaires, built from extracting data from humans and minerals from the earth, and refined by the labor of underpaid workers in the global south - as an ‘important tool for decolonization’ I may simply just explode

Oh man, I missed that Frank Gehry died. That makes me sad. I think his Disney Orchestra Hall and its pipe organ is arguably a masterpiece, and of course the Pritzker Pavilion here in Chicago is amazing(ly good at blinding office workers along Michigan Ave), but my favorite will always be his house.

This is an extremely good breakdown of how absolutely fucked up this entire administration is on the international scale. Wreck survivors are the *literal textbook example* of war crimes in the United States *own armed forces handbooks.*

Hey look, mobile piñatas.

Get this e-waste out of the city and hire real people. (Relatedly, kick them friggin' rental scooters out again, too.)

I have heard the owls are not what they seem. Perhaps be careful and don't go to a second location with owls.
It's that day again. Try and have a good one. 🦉

I, a former Fargo resident, continue to be smug in a Paul Hogan "That's not a knife" sort of way.

...this post has really dated me, huh? Welp.

The most awkward client you ever had is now most likley to be "happy" with AI generated slop.
I feel the clients now using GenAI to do stuff and going "good enough" when they used to nitpick at every last detail is due to them finding out all those nit picky changes take time and work they cant be bothered to put in.

I'm not sure what's bigger Loser Energy - that Musk said his robot 'doing Kung Fu with Jared Leto at the Tron Ares Premiere' was AI when it was just being remote controlled, or that he thought 'telling an AI to do Kung Fu with Jared Leto at the Tron Ares Premiere' was a cool guy thing to do
Intensely funny because it seems like the vast majority of people at that event were convinced it was fully autonomous and Musk has repeatedly recently claimed they're not tele-operated

If I ever became independently wealthy, some of the biggest beneficiaries would be SWers. Not even necessarily for their services*, but just because they're generally good people who are criminally undervalued.

Imagine how much better our lives would be if they could just create rather than hustle.
