The late great Ken Dodd was #BOTD 98 years ago! The Max Miller society (of which I was a founder member) got Ken who was our patron to unveil a plaque on one of Max's houses in 2000. I still have those signed blue & white bloomers! #TattyBye! @musichallsociety.bsky.social @youngalison.bsky.social

Lunch on the beach at The Snack Shack, Dungeness on the Kent coast. THE BEST catch of the day fish and fried potatoes, NOT chips! Not licenced but you can take your own alcohol. Google 'Snack Shack Dungeness' for opening hours. You won't be disappointed. 👍🐟

Prunella Scales was a wonderful actress not only on telly but in the theatre. I saw her in a play about 30 years back, she had such a stage presence. RIP

C'mon ladies, either way you're on a winner! (Not endorsed by my cleaning lady who is still laughing)

This afternoon, on an overcast autumn sunday, you can just about make out a magnificently preserved old ruin. Well that's enough about me. Behind me is Rochester Castle.

The great Leonard Rossiter was #BOTD 99 years ago! If you look closely you can see the 2nd image is signed. I treasure it!

Happy birthday to actress Anneke Wills! Met her at Elstree Studios a few years back and reminded her of her first film 'Childs Play' which Dad was also in with her! Dad gave me his signed copy of her autobiography in which he gets a nice mention.

I won't keep banging on about turning 60 yesterday(Oh well I might do actually). Came across this nice enamel sign at village hall antiques thing. Dealer knocked off 60 quid! Rather serendipitous I thought! B'day prezzie to self. 2nd pic shows the true red colour c.1920's I think

Very productive yesterday processing apples into juice for coider (spell check doesn't like that yokel speak!). Well 3 are coider and the dark one is tea wine. Make some more next week. Now the tough bit, waiting for it to be ready to drink! 🍎🍎🍎🍎🥛

'The Prime Minister of Mirth' George Robey was #BOTD 1869. A couple of places he lived at pictured, a flat in this block in Hove and the large white house with a green roof in Saltdean now an old folks home. His autograph is common but a goodun! #ArchibaldCertainlyNot! @musichallsociety.bsky.social

Moore Marriott #BOTD 1885. This makes him 140, which is how old he looked in the 1937 film 'Oh Mr Porter'. Hmm, what DVD to put on tonight? #NextTrainsGone!

One of the many classic cars I've owned, a 1955 P4 Rover 90, I had for only about a year in the mid 90's. Drove like a dream even around London traffic. Didn't worry about petrol prices back then!

Good crop of chilli's again. These are just the ripe ones, same again to come. Usually dry them above the Rayburn and use them all year round. I will nibble a few raw as I like the pain! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Todays haul. Especially pleased with The Avengers tie in paperbacks and Harry Hill's Top Trump cards. The Saint books are a bonus. I am slimming down my collection honest! Some are going to charity shops and collecting fiends (yes fiends)

Derek Fowlds #BOTD 1937. I took this snap of Dad with him and Brian Murphy at an early

film festival in Rickmansworth. Lovely to see these 3 sitcom legends reunited.

Rudyard Kipling's gaff this afternoon. It is a lovely house and garden setting. Garden not over complicated. I like it that it must be much as was when he lived there. Very busy, couldn't get in tea room, queuing out of the door!

In my happy place today, Festival of Transport, Hellingly. I think next year will exhibit a couple of veedubs and camp over the weekend.

Peter Wyngarde #BOTD. My favourite *Cult TV* character is Jason King, especially in 'Department S'. Lucky enough to meet him at a film fair in London a year or 2 before he died. I now own the snakeskin jacket he wore in the episode 'The Man From X' in 1969. Bought from his estate

Very productive afternoon. Picked crab apples and 2 hours later have 9 jars of crab apple jelly. (Could have made 99 jars but you have to draw the line!). Some for the chooks too. 🐔🐔🐔🐔
