Say ‘I’m leaving for Bluesky’ on X and watch all the nasty aggressive racists queue up to prove why you chose to leave in the first place.
Spent a couple of days in Blackpool. Saw some gig adverts cycling on a big screen:

🥱 Roy Chubby Brown: ‘No Offence Meant’

🥱 Katie Hopkins: ‘Batshit Broken Britain’

…followed by an image of poppies in a field with the message: ‘Lest We Forget’.

RCB & KH’s rhetoric is only inciting violence 🤷🏻‍♂️

Scottish Prem looks a bit mad:

Hibs have won just 2 of 8 and are third top.
Motherwell have lost just 2 of 8 and are third bottom.

So many draws. Rangers with 6 from 8. Hearts top.

Been re-watching Nathan Barley (again). Absurd to think it panned at the time - the writing is incredible, every character (including the most peripheral) has so much depth, the casting is phenomenal…

The world just wasn’t ready for it. Not for at least 20 years, anyway.

“I’m here today because I want to live in a country where I can wave my flag and be free to say what I want to say,” cries a bloke… while waving his flag… and freely saying what he wants to say… on national TV.

I imagine there were a few Zoom calls and plenty of hours lost as senior creatives and brand marketers at McVities tried to decide whether it was best to go with ‘peel’ or ‘unpeel’ here

Just had turd in hurl.

Or toad in the hole, if you’re not from Hull.

If I ever bothered to start and maintain my niche league table for absolutely shite referees who give us penalties, today’s would be right up there. #GTFC

That Amorim quote where he’s saying sometimes he loves his players, sometimes he hates his players… is this what passes for modern, forward-thinking, innovative, elite football coaches these days?

He sounds a bit unhinged. Compare that style to David Artell’s. Who’d you rather report into?

Should’ve booked today as annual leave, really

I just saw Grimsby Town beat Manchester United

I’m on the BBC Sport app, haven’t even clicked on the football tab yet, and I can see FOUR articles dedicated to Man Utd’s defeat to Arsenal yesterday.

There were other games, and there are other sports, out there.

I work with a lot of Man Utd fans. We never thought our paths would cross, so today has been… interesting.

As I’m sure the next two weeks will be.

Last time the Mariners came back from a two-goal deficit to take points in a league game was 18th Nov 2023 when we drew 2-2 at Forest Green #gtfc

For those who can’t get their heads around a sport that can finish in a draw after 5 days, try explaining how it can also finish in a draw after 25 days!

Can’t help but think that if this test series was against the Aussies, they’d be saying this was one of the most remarkable Ashes series ever.

I get that this isn’t a classic India test team, but each test, in and of themselves, has been a cracker.

Great performance and result from the Mariners today. What a lovely way to start a new season!

Telling thing for me was just three debutants in starting XI.

Just two new signings on a bench of seven. Can’t remember the last time we went into a new season with such consistency in personnel. #gtfc

Is there a scale or some kind of measurement when it comes to tunes getting stuck in your head and you humming them relentlessly throughout the day?

If so, Jurassic Park is right up there. Top 5 at least.

Also, India have scored 1,849 runs across the first two tests alone, with 7 centuries in the process. It does make you question the strength of England's bowling unit, and the ultimate plan for it. Wood and Archer certainties for Oz, if they can get/stay fit.

I know Jofra's a talent, but if his own teammates and even the media are saying 'we won't expect fireworks from him' then it does make you wonder why they're playing him.

This is international cricket. It's elite sport. You've gotta be firing on all cylinders if you're representing your country.

With so many people on or below the poverty line, and with event tickets more expensive than ever, how do some of the better known musicians and bands justify charging £35+ for a t-shirt?
