In fairness, she’s had months to prepare for not winning. Never ahead on any polls and even smearing the bejaus done her campaign no use.

And in a day or 2 talk of the record number of spoiled votes will be negligible. In a week or two it be all but forgotten about until the next election or referendum is held, when pundits will ask will it play a part again.

People are free to spoil their vote if they want, but at the end of the day what does it achieve?
It doesn’t stop the election going ahead and only candidates legitimately on the ballot paper can be elected.

If they are going to the bother of putting up the flag, then they should put it at the top of the pole.
