People arriving here by small boat are desperate, often traumatised. Latest figures are 68% of boat arrivals granted asylum (see link)

The idea of the govt stripping people of their valuables & then hawking it off literally makes me sick to my stomach

Confiscating jewellery from survivors of a war zone makes you look like a fucking Nazi. And the obscene thing is, that is the intention. It's there to look appropriately harsh. Indecent. Filthy. A moral stain. And no-one of good character would have ever proposed such a thing in the first place.

From Guardian report this morning:

Asked about Shabana Mahmood’s plans to shake-up asylum, Tice says the home secretary “is beginning to sound as if she is sort of putting in an application” to join Reform.

If Tice approves, Labour, maybe its a sign you should think again, and quickly.

But Is the West interested in stopping Netanyahu? If so what will it take to make them interested enough actually to do something?

Ministers introduce plans to remove all hereditary peers from Lords - The Guardian

Can anyone who thinks (as I do) that an accident of birth should not give anyone the right to rule over us, not also conclude that the monarchy should end too?
Ministers introduce plans to remove all hereditary peers from Lords
Government’s bill would prevent the 92 remaining peers who inherited their titles from sitting in upper chamber

Refreshing.
It seems most people feel that they HAVE to have an opinion on everything.
It feels good to let things go by with just a shrug occasionally

Suddenly after more than a decade of cluelessness and failure they feel able to critique Labour's first weeks
I’m mainly blissfully unaware of the Tory leadership race but when it barges into my orbit, it’s staggering how boastful, unrepentant and hectoring it is. No change of tone. No real accountability. Sneering at a month of Labour when they failed us for 14yrs.
It’s all way too much and way too soon.

I am 60 years old. I have never identified so much with a UK government. For the first time ever, people like me, from backgrounds like mine, are in charge. It feels so good. To say I am invested in its success is an understatement. Let’s show the world the Oiks can deliver!!!
