Count me as very skeptical that we’ll be better off by “consolidating” conservation authorities in Ontario. These are agencies with significant local knowledge and experience that are tasked with making sure our communities don’t flood.

The promise of Lansdowne 1.0 was a "world class destination" and a "waterfall" money flow that would see the City re-couping its investment. Didn't happen. OSEG is back looking for more City investment & more commercial development. Fool me once ... #ottcity
@bsky.app A few images of Lansdowne 1.0 as depicted by OSEG 15 years ago, and approved by Council. The promised public space was not provided, but is instead large format commercial space. #Ottawa

After a long two days arguing about how the city should prioritize significant investment in all facilities (like the Nepean Sportsplex) instead of concentrating on Lansdowne, it’s nice to end the day taking my daughter to her ringette practice at the Sportsplex. Go Ravens!

I didn’t comment on Lansdowne 2.0 yesterday, because I still hadn’t seen the report until 4pm — well after the mayor put out a fancy video and held a press conference to extol its virtues. I will have more detailed comments soon, but my decision to vote no remains unchanged.

The NCC owes nothing to the city to help people drive faster wherever they want. They should 100% shut down at a minimum the QED and then install retractable bollards on all their other roads for immediate closure
Imagine a linear park stretching from NAC to Dows Lake; narrow woonerfs for access to homes/emerge vehicles along way, filled with art, buskers, seating, public washrooms, small pavilions to tell Indigenous and other histories; pop up food carts/bikes; make #PlacesForPeople @ncc-ccn.gc.ca
