To be clear, we do have plans for scaling, we just kinda expected more than a couple days notice before getting blasted with a million new users a day.

I'm afraid the tech job market is gonna suck for awhile. Even if layoffs begin to decline, there's still a large number of job seekers compared to available jobs. And new roles aren't being created fast enough to srink the pool of job seekers at a fast rate.

How the foundation of Bluesky was built is so crucial for the future of social — so much so that @rmac.bsky.social & I wrote a whole chapter about it in our book. From day 1, @jay.bsky.team was insistent on independence, a decision that was extraordinarily prescient. (1/2)
