Our students aren’t being heard.

“students aren't told anything at all."

"You really have to dig for all the information - online, on the website, through emails... unless you have the time to sit and dig through emails, you don't know what's going on," she says.

Very happy with this cover for ‘Irish Culture and Partition, 1920-1955’, which features a detail from Evie Hone’s stained glass window 'Four Green Fields'. This window was originally shown at the New York's World Fair in 1939, but is now found in Government Buildings on Merrion Street

You don’t have to mourn war criminals. You don’t have to issue condolences to their families.
You don’t have to launder their legacies.

Save your grief for the innocents they killed, maimed or tortured without ever seeing justice served to their executioners.

The book isn’t out until January in Ireland and March in the States, but if you’d like a copy eventually here is the pre-order discount code. I’ll share it again and have some launches planned in Bellaghy, Belfast and Dublin for late Feb/ early March. Do come along, I’d be glad to see you.

Another @erskineproject.bsky.social article is out: 'The Visual Dimension of Ruaraidh Erskine's Scottish Magazines'! It is a rare pleasure to be part of such a lavish and carefully curated publication, and I am grateful to the SSAH ssah.org.uk for the possibility to contribute to their journal.
An article on 'The Visual Dimension of Ruaraidh Erskine's Scottish Magazines' by @poncarova.bsky.social has just appeared in the Journal of the Scottish Society for Art History 30 (2025-26) ssah.org.uk, discussing artworks by Stewart Carmichael, Andrew Scott Rankin, Hugh Munro, and Haldane MacFall.

The deadline for the joint BAMS/ MSA conference is fast approaching! It's exactly one month away on December 1, 2025. Please note it's the same deadline for panels, papers, roundtables, and workshop/ seminar proposals. You can propose in-person or online panels/ roundtables (but not hybrids).
Believe it or not, it's already time to think about MSA 2026 in Loughborough, UK. The conference will meet July 1-4, and proposals for panels, papers, roundtables, workshops, and seminars is December 1. Please note this MUCH earlier deadline.
