Last week, my team helped @ultraviolet.bsky.social fly a banner over a Tallahassee as Trump’s DOJ met with Ghislaine Maxwell — all with the goal of recentering survivors in the narrative.
Our gratitude to the UV team for their quick action, bold vision, and for trusting us as their partner.
Working an airplane into a communications strategy was not what we expected going into last week. But we were thrilled to step up when @ultraviolet.bsky.social called. And all for a sober but important goal: recentering the conversation on survivors of sexual assault.

If this is how this administration responds to a Senator with a question, you can only imagine what they're doing to farmworkers, to cooks, and to day laborers throughout California and across the country.

We will hold this administration accountable.

Unbelievably proud of our team and the bold organizations we get to support.
Hi, we are Forward Shift, an advocacy communications firm. For our intro to Bluesky, we thought we’d show a bit of our work.
We were honored to support the talented team at @ultraviolet.bsky.social with a campaign to hold a high-profile misogynist accountable.

The other side's zeal for eroding the right to vote. I know we're well past the point of surprise, but imagine waking up every morning and getting excited about doing *this* work.
A North Carolina appeals court heard state Supreme Court candidate Jefferson Griffin's (R) bid to throw out 65k ballots and overturn the results of his losing election.

“Now the right to vote is not absolute,” Griffin's lawyer said in court.

I wish we were discussing better news, but I was honored to comment alongside Dolores Huerta on how recent White House appointments will be harmful to everyday people, workers, and the economy. via @noticiastelemundo.bsky.social www.telemundo.com/noticias/not...

A lot of people think of the Jim Crow South as a non-democracy for Black people & a democracy for white people.

But the reality is that it wasn’t especially a democracy for white people either. Many scholars, in fact, refer to the Jim Crow South as a series of authoritarian enclaves.

There are excellent immigration journalists out there. But at this rate, it’s clear that many other reporters are just going to get used for propaganda when they’re needed most. They’re not ready for what’s coming.
The @nytimes.com re-aired Astead Herndon’s 2023 interview with Trump’s incoming border czar. The questions basically amount to:

1. When was the first time you thought it would be cool to deport someone? Did you feel a big rush when you did it?

I'm thrilled about this victory in our U.S. House seat in my very swingy home district, #ca47. Congrats to Dave Min and all of us who threw down for this. www.latimes.com/california/s...
