Of course he was very good on Angliru, or he’d have been dropped. But to say this is his best is not correct, I don’t think.
There’s nothing wrong with that - he rode a very hard Tour before this and Almeida’s been to altitude and has obviously made a good step up this year.

What really annoys me is everyone criticising Ayuso for not being around to pace and then when he does help, Almeida doesn’t even try to do anything with it.

They’ve won 6 stages though, it’s hardly the end of the world.
But Jonas could lose a decade in the TT like in the Tour and then I guess it doesn’t matter anymore
