71 days since her body was found. Main suspect, her husband, has still not been arrested.

This weekend, Ms Brella’s body will be repatriated to the family home along with personal, sentimental items that will allow the family to start preparing for Harshita Brella’s funeral.

We’ve also confirmed that Ms Brella had no recourse to public funds.

Charities say this leaves migrant women who’ve suffered domestic violence even more vulnerable; taking away womens security and often leaving little option other than returning to the perpetrator.

NEW: Channel 4 News has seen text messages shedding further light on what was happening before Harshita Brella was murdered, including claims that her bank account had been drained by the police’s main suspect - her husband. More details on @channel4news.bsky.social at 7pm

“Harshita, you left this world but you are still with us in our hearts and will always be there.

“We will never forget you till our last breath. Always stay with us.

“We miss you in every very moment of our life.” #harshitabrella
