Obviously I’ve never met him, but he seems great—trying to find out how I was after, and seeming so genuinely happy and surprised (as it is understandably very rare) to have heard from me. I was so happy to have helped so much with his recovery while I was going through my own.

When I left hospital, I emailed TfL to try and get a message to the driver of the train. From the moment I regained consciousness and was off morphine and the like, I was determined to do get a message to him somehow. To my amazement, I eventually received a reply from him:

The advance fares are even cheaper to/from Moor Street, it is quicker and you don’t have to use Euston!

I cannot believe it’s been a year without the wonderful Miss Jason. I’m sure she’s having a few Aperol Spritzes, singing Quando Quando Quando and doing magnificent, camp crowd work somewhere. We all miss you so much, dear ❤️❤️❤️
