One can go there with the intercessor, to feel their weight and paws on one's back while their jaw snaps at the meat next to the ear.
Then, the cats came. Not only do they outnumber the hyenas, but they fight them claws bared for the meat, and take it.

There is a town where a covenant was struck with hyenas so they wouldn't rifle through the streets at night. They're fed with leftovers from the butchers, not wild but not domesticated. At sundown, on the outskirts, cries, whistling and their individual names are used to call them.

I have been petted by a hyena while surrounded by feral cats. Dare to dream.
(I share that "let me pet" feeling.)
