This reptilian monster was sunning one late afternoon at a pond in Venice, Florida. He could be close to 14 feet long. Biggest alligator I've ever seen.

I suspect this is a white admiral butterfly, but I think I will need someone far more proficient in butterfly identification than I am. The underside of the wings are very different from the tops of the wings. Any thoughts?
