Towards the end, Hess asked to approach the Tribunal and discussed his competency. During the Hearing, Hess surprised all and read a statement stating he has been feigning amnesia.

In German, he spoke about Nazi plans and procedures and described efforts to exterminate entire categories of people.

Also, the #Tribunal commenced a Special Proceeding on the petition of counsel to defendant Rudolph Hess regarding his competency to be tried.

The graphic portrayal aroused strong emotions in the defendants' dock. The film was compiled from motion pictures and notes taken by Allied military photographers as the Allied armies in the West liberated the areas in which these camps were located.
