I..er...well, last year, my #spotifywrapped had my #1 song as Halestorm with 3164 plays of 1 song..so we are down from that a bit...BUT may I present my most replayed songs of 2025. The nickelback one has a line that makes me laugh, and Rosenfeld tells you what I might have been doing that day

The Huhh a deep huff, the lllllll elongated, as though his tongue might be stuck on the roof of his mouth, the oHOoooooooooh exaggerated into two parts: oH, emphasis on the closing of the vowel, and Ooooooooooh, emphasis on the opening of the vowel again. I paused. This was his phone number. He had called me on the number recently. But he sounded so unlike himself. Was it someone else? Finally, I said, with some doubt, “Mr. President?” There was a pause and he said, “Yeah,” but he said it like Yyyyy-AH-awwww. Deep, slow. Goofy, really. The Yyyyy suspended for a touch too long, the AH a very big sound, like he might swallow up the phone, and then the awwww, a cartoonish vocal gesture, somewhere between Duh, of course it’s me, your president and the empty cooing of the Valley Girl of late- twentieth-century stereotype.

Bagram is worth pursuing, though not at any cost. Bagram is strategically important because of its proximity to the border with China and to a nuclear testing range at Lop Nur in a remote part of Xinjiang province. The testing range was long believed abandoned, but there have been reports of increased Chinese military construction activities in the area. An American military presence at Bagram would also allow the U.S. to conduct counterterrorism operations in a volatile region against the Islamic State-Khorasan terrorist group, which is also at war with the Taliban and has also spread its tentacles into Europe. What the Taliban wants most from the U.S. is recognition. The country’s seat at the United Nations is still held by the former government. The Taliban would also like to access $7 billion in assets frozen in the U.S. to boost its flagging economy. Washington post editorial text Trump has leverage. This month, the Taliban’s foreign minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, and Trump’s special envoy for hostages, Adam Boehler, said they had reached a deal on a prisoner exchange. The Wall Street Journal reported that talks about a small American contingent basing out of Bagram were in the early stages. Recognizing the Taliban’s government now would be a mistake. The regime’s abhorrent treatment of women and girls and its persecution of ex-government officials are unlikely to stop any time soon. Only Russia has extended full diplomatic relations to the Taliban’s government, but countries such as India and Japan maintain embassies in the country’s capital. It would not be a betrayal of American values to open an embassy in Kabul. But there’s little reason to believe that the U.S. diplomatic boycott of Afghanistan, more than four years after the Taliban took over, is exerting meaningful pressure that will make the government crack. Other actors are filling the void. Better for Washington to have more influence in Kabul than less. The return of a small American military contingent to Bagram would be a far cry from the commanding presence that existed before. But it would give the U.S. a toehold in a strategically vital region as competition with China continues.

Admittedly, that largely depends on which press you read...but this was CNN at the time, and local media...and even theNY Post a month later...and the US attorney at the time called it a "..political assassination, which is not the word we use very often in the United States.."

No you don't. The USA as a country does not trade with those places. People and businesses do. You do not have a financial deficit when you buy goods from another company or individual. You exchange money for a product. Dear God.. and he just declared financial literacy month

The only way this problem can be cured is with TARIFFS, which are now bringing tens of billions of dollars into the USA. They are already in effect and a beautiful thing to behold. The surplus with these countries has grown during the 'presidency' of sleepy Joe biden. We are going to reverse it, and reverse it QUICKLY. Some day people will realize that tariffs, for the United States of America, are a very beautiful thing.
