That's a gross over statement that contains an element of truth. But the people have allowed that to happen. Complacency is the illness of the USA today. If the people will get motivated to demand their government representatives be held accountable for their responsibilities, the tyranny will end.

That's what the constitution is based on. The founding fathers were very suspicious of kings. The states banded together for common necessity (currency, trade, defense, etc.). States were to keep the rights to everything else.

Many use "American countries" synonymously with Western hemisphere countries. There is no country called America. Americans call their country America because it has no other name to distinguish itself. Mexicans call the "United States of Mexico" Mexico.

Why are you surprised that some in the US think the same way. Most self-proclaimed "Christians" actually are not Christians and appear to only hold old testament values. (Women are subordinate to men).
