Some highlights of day one of the Italian 🇮🇹 roadtrip. Direct route from home near Valence via Gap, Barcelonnette and the Col de Larche into Italy. These are on the French 🇫🇷 side en route.

A moment of peace on the road to Italy………..
Up as a memory elsewhere, I was about 14 there. My dad was working as a truck mechanic in a transport yard. At the back was an over grown railway embankment, and lots of rats 🐀 used to scuttle about. He gave me a 4/10 shotgun and paid me pocket money for each rat I shot! Not this gun of course! 🤣

Found myself a bit of shade for the night here in the Aube (10) near Troyes, opposite a puppy 🐶 place! Quite a bit to do to get home to the Ardèche 🇫🇷 tomorrow, but then it’s 2 weeks off. Roadtrip to Southern Italy 🇮🇹 starts on Sunday, but it’s always a pleasure as a tourist in a car. Bonne soirée!

I’m currently here at a well known DIY chain shop in Brie-Comte-Robert (77) 🇫🇷. But this time next week I’ll be going for an early morning swim on the Tuscany coast in Italy 🇮🇹, before a shower and a leisurely breakfast! Then onwards to Naples! Buona Giornata a tutti as they say in those parts!
All set for another working week after a short weekend. Off to load in Tain L’Hermitage (26) fresh meats for a delivery this afternoon up in Bourges (18). Bonne journée all! 🇫🇷

I know I’m not on here much, and I hope you’re all doing well by the way! Tomorrow I’ll be at the 11th November ceremony here in my French village as I am every year in this get up! Regimental tie, small pin badge as a Northern Ireland veteran, and that’s it! I represent my country here in that way.

More or less set for the trip down to Bitonto 🇮🇹 where my wife is from. Tomorrow I just wanted a scenic route up in the Alps, and a night at altitude (first village in Italy). Sunday night another hotel for a night near Modena. Have to say I enjoy road-trips in a car with my wife, and no trucks! 🇫🇷🇮🇹
