Yup. I have a big (carpet) bag that I can use if I'm in the car, otherwise it just gets scrunched into a shoulder sack - which is fine as long as I'm not in choir dress 🤭.

Be wary, too, of the weight of some of these. I was given a hand-me-down, and it's useless for public transport because the bag itself is heavy, even before you put anything in it.

It loses the deliberately scandalous vibe of the original, but to retain it, you'd have to lose some of the imagery, I think, to stop it running too many themes, so it becomes something more like:

The second half is solid. We do make purity an idol and depend on it rather than Christ.

The thing is, bringing the first half into the natural sense of the parables, robs it of its own coherence.
You'd need something like this, I think, to retain the logic and imagery of both parables & collect:

One of the most moving funerals I've ever taken was for a man who was adamant there should be no eulogy and only really consented to being mentioned by name because the New Rite scripts it.
But he chose the hymns and readings and the service vibrated with his faith in the resurrection.
