Chief of Economic Development for @mayorwu. Former BECMA CEO. Morehouse ‘12. Not a real Rev. or doctor. Opinions my own, but not that interesting.

When it comes to supporting families, we’re starting at the very beginning by investing more in early education and childcare than ever before. And this is just the beginning. So grateful to have Elizabeth Warren as a partner fighting for our families & our future!

I was proud to stand up for our city in DC & able to do so effectively bc of the hardworking team who made the trip. Don’t have a private jet to transport everyone, but that also means there are no Qs about whether my family & I are profiting off Trump’s mass deportation policies.

Please keep reminding everyone about the time the Mayor of Boston stood up for our city against the most vicious monsters in Congress and beat them all to hell.

This is not about “a single policy disagreement.” As Councilor, I’d call BMRB for feedback & insights, as City officials had for decades. Their thorough, apolitical, data-driven analysis saw the City through some of our toughest challenges. Today’s BMRB is unrecognizable against that legacy.

For decades in Boston, BMRB was a trusted source of municipal finance & policy expertise. Today they behave as a political action committee to lower corporate taxes.

I declined the annual invite to present advanced insights on Boston’s budget at a $325/person lunch to fundraise for this cause.
Have no idea what @mayorwu.boston.gov is thinking, but — speaking as a longtime supporter of then-Councilor and now Mayor Wu — it was my impression that BMRB, NAIOP and the Chamber unfairly pulled the rug out from under Wu in Dec 24, after agreeing to a compromise. The rationale was paper thin IMO.

I’m getting annoyed with people and politicians using my community as a crutch for their weak arguments. We deserve nice things too.

Anyway, as a son of this community, I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and ensure we see every benefit from this exciting project.

Putting aside that @boston.gov committed to fleet electrification in 2019, some facts:

City gets $7,500 tax credit* per EV here. On top of $10K fuel/maintenance savings over the lifespan.

The EVs replaced old/unusable gas cars with mostly comparable cost, eg Chevy Tahoe $56K+ sticker price today.
