Unedited preview of my friend Razmus in my lace puzzle dress. Men in lace and men in dresses are a few of my favourite topics to discuss. My fascination goes beyond the societal emotions that these combinations seem to stir - deep down to the root causes of these strong feelings!

Archived beauty! Incredible to be close to these 18th century books, just guessing what stories they hold! Look at the marbled paper cover of this 1719 piece ☺️❤️ #riksarkivet #bookbinding

It’s in the details ☺️My 🐚 are with me when cutting fabrics! Very helpful when cutting a slinky dress on the bias!

Things I look at in paintings: how skilled the artist is at depicting fabric! Look at the lace, silk & velvet here 🙏❤️

The details! I never came this close to a 17th century gold embroidery before. To be able to touch (with gloves of course) and rest my eyes on this caparison was such a treat. Can’t wait to dive deeper into the handicraft of the artisans of the past. #Skoklostercastle

What a way to start the weekend! A special visit to the baroque castle Skokloster outside visiting hours. The feeling of walking in solitude in the cold hallways surrounded by portraits, tapestries and architecture of the blossoming kind - almost untouched since the 17th century. Magnificent 💫

I visited one of the towers at Uppsala Cathedral, Sweden, where you can find the only complete #renaissance outfits in the world: The Sture Costumes. Svante Sture (1517) & his sons Nils (1543) & Erik (1546) were murdered by King Erik XIV & his posse at Uppsala Castle on May 24,1567 wearing this.

“There is a difference between useless & ineffectual, no matter what the dictionary says. All the things which can give ordinary life a turn for the better are useless: affection, laughter, flowers, song, seas, mountains, play, poetry, art, & all. But they are not valueless & not ineffectual either”

What a way to end the week. Today we washed our hands and studied dress from the 19th century. What about this empire dress in sheer cotton?

I worked with a friend and photographer to document things like this (photo)😳 What’s so special, you might think? It’s the untouched box of treasures, in storage since decades back. Belongings of someone’s great grandmother - dead since long ago. What thoughts run through your mind when seeing this?

Dress out of lace scraps and stained tablecloths tadaaa 😅 I launched my website today! A tribute to the silent work of unknown hands, a celebration of the beauty that emerges when we bring forgotten things back into the light. #circulardesign #craft #textilehistory #dressmaker

I’m such a nerd, but I’m trying to catalog some of my “less fancy” lace scraps…but are these crocheted pieces really lace? At least they are hand made probably mid or early 20th century. #lovethread #textilehistory #crochet #lace #spetsskrinet

The joy of discovering that a piece of clothing from your wardrobe is hand sewn and dates back to 1890s Victorian era. Just like that. #ottomanempire #victorianera #bellepoque #textilehistory

Combining historical pattern making studies in theory with actual pattern making of a prom dress! The name of the client is Elsa, so I can tell my 5 year old that I’m making an #Elsadress 😅🙄🌟

Today marks the beginning of something old and new, depending on how you see it. 20 years ago I did the Textile Science A course at @uppsalauniversitet.bsky.social and today I’m back for the B course running full time until June! 🎨Mother sewing with two children (like me 🙄) 1670-1700, Unknown Artist

I just decided to pause all meta related apps until things change for the better. I’m here to share textile moments and my work with lace and circular economy.
