God has promised that the time will come when Christ’s reign of righteousness will begin. The promise is ours now, but the fulfilment is not yet. This week's Advent reflection is here: open.substack.com/pub/revgaret...
Wondering with the Word: watch!
We are called to wait determinedly, purposefully and to trust in God’s promises. We cannot afford to become complacent

This week's reflection for Advent reminds us that Jesus warns his hearers not to miss what God is doing because they are weighed down by the weight of the world. revgareth.substack.com/p/wondering-...

Spend time with Mary this Advent and you will see that she experiences sorrow, joy and hope as she reflects on her role in God's plan. This week's reflection is at revgareth.substack.com/p/wondering-...
Wondering with the Word: Magnificat
Sorrow, joy and hope are not exclusive emotions. We can be sorrowful, joyful and hopeful almost in the same breath. And it’s OK.

If Thursday is your sermon writing time, here's a reflection for Christ the King Sunday. open.substack.com/pub/revgaret...
Wondering with the Word: King
If Jesus was the author of Creation, he was also the one who received all those redeemed by this New Creation. God brought it back full circle.

God’s desire for us is nothing to do with what we create, develop or solve. We are invited to respond to God’s promise of radical grace, but the outcome is God’s action towards us not out of anything we may or may not do. revgareth.substack.com/p/wondering-...
Wondering with the Word: future hope
So what does it look like when we give up our claim to be right and make ourselves open for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven?

What does Remembrance mean for the Christian? Some reflections here: revgareth.substack.com/p/wondering-...
Wondering with the Word: remember
The call of Jesus is to love: love God, love God’s peaceable kingdom and live out that love in the belief that God will not leave us stranded in a place of fear

This hymn was Written in response to the Boxing Day tsunami in 2004. It feels appropriate for all those in the Caribbean facing the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. If you sing it, the best tune is Aurelia (The Church's One Foundation).

I agree, Nick. And, to be honest, it's about time. All my adult life. politics has been about defeating the other. Oh for a maturity that sees the benefit of working together for the good of the country.
With new voting system for the Senedd in Wales next year, it looks certain the next government here will be a coalition. Choice between Plaid & Labour, maybe needing Greens and/or LibDems, and Reform/Conservative. It’ll need more mature politics either way, as much of Europe is already aware. #Wales

Politics in Wales feels a little less nasty this morning. Thankfully Farage's Regress party has fallen at its latest electoral hurdle. Caerphilly has told him, 'We're not that kind of people.' @bbcwales.bsky.social #ReformRegress #Regress #Senedd
